Are some parts of quran missing?

Many parts are missing... as you have mentioned, many muslim males who knew specific verses died in battle before they could share their knowledge... Secondly, women couldn't be trusted to memorize verses from the Qur'an nor children for that matter as the Qur'an was not complied until 60 - 100 years after Mohammad's death! The Qur'an was just parchments, words written on bones, leafs and some memorized - whatever... but not in a coherent book! So anyone saying it was fully memorized before it was put together is wrong on many levels! Furthermore, no matter what a muslim thinks - people forget things... Look at the Islamic society today - it is in shambles! Majority of muslim are uneducated and illiterate... save those who went to school in the west... So yes, it is very odd that people will blindly say things that make no sense to support a book that has every fifth verse as being incomprehsiable - one would think a god could write clearly for it's audience...
