How come the Arabs avoided Greece?

I read alot of History books and I read about the Caliphates and the Arab Empires.Now here is the bizarre question,Why did they avoid Greece,they went to Italy/Sicily, Turkey,And Iberia which is Spain Portugal?Is it true that Greece is very hard to find?especially for ancient people?I just don't get why an empire who is so adiment about spreading their ideas avoid Greece like the plague?And Greece is almost surrounded by Arab countries,and you mean to tell me that not one Arabic person ever stepped foot there back in the ancient times??WOW!
