Italy or Sicily for vacation?

We want to take two weeks to Italy. Suggestion? Italy for 12 days on the ground including Venice, Rome, Florience Cinque terre OR a mixture to include Sicily??? And yes for all you geography experts, I know Sicily is part of Italy-Dah !
